"Reclaiming" is well-known as an inexpensive source for monitor,
test or prime wafer. Since 1992 it is also available for GaAs and InP. The
idea to recycle used wafer is obvious for economic reasons. You
get inexpensive wafer with best bulk properties. The only difference
to prime material is a thickness loss of few micron. Since all coatings
are completely removed the surface has all properties of prime wafer. Even
a repeated reclaiming is no problem. In 2008 we started to reclaim
Germaniumwafer.
![]() When Wacker-Siltronic in
Burghausen sold its compound semiconductor activities to Freiberger (FCM)
in 1992 III/V-Reclaim started as a spin-off the reclamation of GaAs and
InP. After 18 years of business and continuous process improvement we are the leading company worldwide offering a reclaim service for
Ge, GaAs and InP wafer.
